Namon "Butch" Joshua, III

Namon Joshua III , “Butch” 64 went to be with the Lord on Saturday April 28, 2018 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, OH while surrounded by family. He was born on January 12, 1954 in Donaldsonville, Louisiana. The son of Beatrice and Namon Joshua Jr. Namon was the eldest of 6 siblings. He graduated Cum laude from Southern University in 1975 with a bachelor of science in business management. He was then recruited to Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was later promoted to AVP where he was a field manager. He later met his soon to be wife and married Phyllis Joshua on August 18, 1979. They had two children, Candace Peterson and Namon Joshua IV. He later took a position with Bank One in Columbus, Ohio. Namon was an AVP as a systems analyst. In 1995 he was an entrepreneur with Legal Shield where he later became an executive director and built a successful business. He was called upon by the lord to serve as a deacon at age 11. Namon loved to cook, won several rib fests, and called himself “Dr. Sauce”. He was preceded in death by his father: Namon Joshua Jr., sister: Stephanie Joshua, maternal grandparents: Ernest, Sr. and Beatrice Harris , paternal grandparents: Namon, Sr. and Florence Joshua. He is survived by his wife: Phyllis Joshua, 2 children: Candace (Bryant) Peterson, Namon Joshua IV, grandsons: Bryson Peterson, Ayden Peterson, Tristan Peterson, mother: Beatrice Joshua, Siblings: Farrell (Sharon) Joshua, Joyce (Raynell) Madison, Marylou (Melvin) Davis, Gerald (Natalie) Joshua, Sister-in law: Althea (Oscar) Worthy, brothers-in-law: Harry Clark, Kenneth (Phillis) Clark, Nieces: Nedra (Leonard)Materre, Kelly (Antoine) Ward, Kimberly (Molly) Joshua, Heather (Ryan) Wilson, Dina Clark, Terri Clark, Nephews: Melvin (Karrah) Davis Jr., Jason Davis, Raynell Madison Jr., Darius Madison, Anthony Joshua, Jeremy Joshua, Jordan Joshua, and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, great nieces, great nephews and friends who loved him. Visiting 9 AM, Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Buena Vista Baptist Church, St. James until religious services at 11 AM, conducted by Rev. Dr. Joseph Coleman, Sr., Pastor.  Interment in the church cemetery.

I send to your family my deepest sympathy. Butch and I attended Southern together. We were the best of friends infact our hold little posse. He moved away and we still kept in Touch. I saw him his last visit home and was very happy to see him. We had great times and he always was Butch. Family he’s gone but not really because once you were his friend you stayed his friend.
